London Marathon - 17th April 2011

The 2011 event takes place on Sunday 17th April. If you would like to apply for a place we recommend the twin-track approach of applying for a Ballot Place, and also for a guaranteed (or Golden Bond) CRY place via CRunCH. Demand for Golden Bond places always exceeds the number of places available, so this dual approach will give you the best chance of getting a place.

If you are particularly interested in marathons, half-marathons, 10ks and other running events, these are listed below AND separately listed here

Upcoming Events Date

South Coast Charity Walk in memory of Alice Lyte
"Alice Lyte passed away suddenly from a cardiac arrest in December 2009.  Her death was so unexpected that all her friends and family are still struggling to come to terms with it.  Alice was just 23 years old, she was a close friend to so many people and gave so many smiles to us all throughout her life. I have been wanting to do something for Alice, something to celebrate her life and raise money for CRY.  It is hard to come to grips with the loss of somebody - if there is something you can do in their memory, something that they themselves would love to have done that you can do for them, whilst at the same time raising money to help prevent similar tragedies then this is a great thing.  Alice adored the Cornish Coast, so i have decided walk the whole 610mile coast path for her, from Minehead all the way around to Poole.  I will be completing the walk on my own." Whilst some previous renovations have been made to the school buildings, many of them are still in a state of disrepair, and any further renovations will greatly improve the learning environment and be of real benefit to the children. Namibia Project
Namibia is one of the few places on earth where the natural environment rules supreme. This is the land of the famous desert elephant, as well as black rhino, giraffe, zebra, springbuck, oryx, kudu and hyena. The area is vast and children can travel a long way, primarily by foot, to attend the A. Gariseb Primary School, which offers hostel facilities that can accommodate up to 200 pupils. Whilst some previous renovations have been made to the school buildings, many of them are still in a state of disrepair, and any further renovations will greatly improve the learning environment and be of real benefit to the children. Previous experience is not essential, but a willingness to help out with manual work is required.
