I can’t believe we did this…this is the hardest endurance event we have ever ever done! A huge thanks to our family and friends for your support while we did this challenge. Thank you Tony Terras for taking us at 4.30am to the start. I can’t begin to tell you how horrific it was, it was very dangerous and at times we just wanted to break down and cry…well we did and I did twice! We have been told that we were part of only 30 people to complete it (10 of the 20 fell runners who completed it and 20 walkers). This took us all to our brink.
We were devastated that Stephen had to pull out at Beacon Felll, he helped the whole team get across the fells, rivers and peat bogs. I fell into the river, Joanne got stuck in the peat bog ( funny v funny) We climbed up hills through paths that had turned into rivers and I mean rivers. It was dangerous it was cold it was wet but you know we have some amazing memories. Thanks to Lucy Cox for being our first face to face support and bringing your dad a whole new wardrobe& socks/gloves. Thanks to Cathryn McCrink for searching for us and being an Angel at Beacon Fell, Joanne and I needed a hot drink and you were there to give us a Hug and a brew. Huge thanks for Ian Jenkinson coming back twice and bringing prosecco and for Marlene and Michelle Weir for staying up most of the night waiting for Joanne and I to get back. 400 people should have started the challenge, 210 commence and only 30 finished, we were part of a final group of walkers called the rebel 9 who completed the challenge despite it being pulled at 75k at 11pm at night. We walked 100k in 18 hours! But most of all I want to thank Joanne Clair Botica and Stephen Cox You two are truly great friends and I have the privilege to have some amazing memories of doing stupid stupid events with you both but they will stay with me forever. Ok I’m now high as a kite on paracetamol and ibuprofen and Marlene is feeding me too many yorkshire puddings. I’m off to bed. Thanks once again guys you lot are the best. Xxx Ps never ever ever again and thanks for all you sponsorship! Still receiving money as we speak Deborah Terras
