This course on imaging in cardiomyopathies and athlete’s heart will help the attendees to build up their expertise in a field that has exponentially grown in the last 10 years. Cardiomyopathies are increasingly recognized as a result of the better understanding and knowledge of these conditions and cardiac imaging plays a pivotal role in this setting.
The aim of the course is to provide a basic knowledge and ability to accurately differentiate findings suggestive of a potentially lethal cardiovascular disorder from normal variants or features of benign physiological adaptations. The course will provide a road map on critical thinking in imaging interpretation (echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance) in the specific field of cardiomyopathies and physiological adaptation to exercise. Teaching will include practical sessions with discussion of clinical cases with experts in the field.
