Sue Dewhirst & I held a CRY Charity Ball on Saturday 10th November at The Grosvenor Chester.
180 people attended along with Charlotte Carney, who was screened by CRY in Summer 2016. Charlotte received her heart transplant in February of this year. Charlotte gave a speech explaining the importance of screening and told her heart transplant journey.
The evening started with a champagne reception while we were entertained by Alex Crowe.
Once seated we had a 3 course dinner and enjoyed a game of heads and tables.
Dinner was followed by an Auction conducted by Christina Trevanion from the BBC. Prizes included a framed signed Manchester United shirt, framed signed Freddie Flintoff woodworm cricket bat, a bespoke piece of art from Lyn Evans and a pice if jewellery from Cartergore. The Auction raised £6,500.00, then to our surprise The JD Foundation presented Sue & I with a cheque for £4,000.00.
Whilst dinner was taking place, Julie & Victoria Carney ( Charlotte’s Mother & Sister) sold raffle tickets. The raffle was a huge success with some amazing prizes.
Everyone then danced the night away with the singer Danny East and a DJ.
