Sixth Form Student, Elinor, has launched the ‘Hartbeat’ campaign to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) after her cousin, Frank, was diagnosed with a heart condition at a CRY screening financed by a memorial fund. “Frank’s diagnosis, although devastating, has potentially saved his life,” Elinor said. She aims to raise £5,000 in order to hold another CRY screening in Monmouth for 100 young people. “CRY is a vital charity, especially to sporty youngsters,” said Elinor. “I would like to extend the Dean Mason Memorial Fund’s kindness and pay for an event in Monmouth next summer. I need to raise at least £5,000 to host one day’s screening, when 100 youngsters can get checked.” Read More
