A man has had his 30-inch locks chopped to raise money for a charity he helps to promote.
Bradley Farrow, 22 and from Sheerwater, accepted the challenge of having his head shaved in front of a pub packed with punters.
His hair will now be sold to a wigmaker to raise even more cash for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
His friend Daniel Stobell also joined in the charity challenge, which was held at The Sovereigns pub in Woking.
The charity is important to Bradley as he suffers from Brugada syndrome, a condition that causes his heart to race and go into cardiac arrest.
Bradley, who works in a warehouse in Wandsworth, South London, has an ICD (Internal Cardiac Defibrillator) fitted, which helps to bring his heart back to a regular beat if he goes into cardiac arrest.
Both friends had their heads shaved and also put their pain thresholds to the test by having their chests and legs waxed at the event, which took place on July 30.
Eddie, Bradley's mother, said: "The evening went really well and we raised about £1,000. Most of the money was raised by sponsorship before the event but we got £130 in donations on the night.
"Bradley's hair was going on for about 30 inches long and he has been growing it for about five years.
"It is going to be sold to a wig maker and the money is makes will go to CRY.
"We don't know how much it is being sold for yet, there's a bidding war.
"There was a really good turnout at the pub and the atmosphere was brilliant. A big thank-you to everyone."
Bradley said: "The head shave took about 15 minutes and the chest waxing lasted a painful hour.
"A friend of mine, Sam Spiller, came up with the idea after she asked some friends whether they thought I should have my head shaved and they agreed.
"I am pleased to raise anything for CRY, no matter what the figure."
A raffle was also held to raise funds and prizes included a cricket shirt signed by sporting legend Sir Ian Botham.
The head shave was carried out by staff from Woking's Italian Hair Designs and beauty therapist Charlie Stanley almost brought tears to their eyes with the waxing.
