There was plenty for CRY Chief Executive Dr Steven Cox to reflect on in his 2019 end of year message. CRY had its best financial year yet by raising over £3.8 million, and made significant progress in the effort to establish a national strategy for the prevention of young sudden cardiac death with over 180 MPs signing our pledge. We continued to provide more support as well, as more bereavement support days were held in the CRY office and the number of people joining our private Facebook support groups increased. Meanwhile, CRY’s research continues to further the way we understand young sudden cardiac death, and our first Family Research day was a great event to highlight the impact our research has with excellent presentations from some of our doctors. Along with CRY screening more young people than ever in a year, surpassing 30,000 for the first time, a lot was accomplished in all areas through 2019.
