Herefordshire’s Tupsley Girls under-12 football team have been taking part in a variety of activities such as cycling, skateboarding, scooting, walking and running in their local area in order to raise awareness and funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in memory of Kieran Joyce. Kieran was just 15 years old when he passed away in his sleep in 2019.
The girls are covering the distance between grounds in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and the FA Women’s Championship; 1,434 miles (2,307 km). So far, they have raised £1,380.
“They have really got involved,” said Luke Jordan, the club’s welfare officer. “Some days between the 13 players they are covering 70 miles, some of them are doing crazy mileage.”
