Sixth-form students at The Bishop’s Stortford High School held their annual charity day in memory of two former pupils.
Caroline ‘Caz’ Johnstone who died in June 2008 of an undiagnosed heart condition and Alex Cheer who passed away after a sudden illness.
The girls dress as soldiers in memory of Alex, who was an Army cadet, and the boys as fairies to commemorate Caroline, known as Fairy Caz. The sixth-form students raised a fantastic £520. Their fundraising efforts also included a cake stall and a dodgeball session.
Rob Stark, head of sixth form, said: “The day’s events were planned and run by the students themselves, and we’re delighted with the mature way they promoted CRY and Help for Heroes in memory of Caroline and Alex.
“Community is one of our key values and our annual charities day is always an exciting feature of our calendar.”
