North Dorset 7s (ND7s) have announced that they will be holding their annual one day rugby 7s tournament. This is one of the largest community-run, one day rugby tournaments in the South West and will go ahead on Saturday 24 July 2021 at North Dorset RFC in Gillingham, Dorset. This is the eighth year and organisers promise that it will be the best event yet both on and off the field.
The day will consist of, more than 150 matches across seven pitches and with 64 teams taking part, the tournament offers rugby for both elite and social players alike across the men’s and women’s game – there is even a tournament for ‘veteran’ over 35s.
ND7s have raised £13,000 so far for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) over the last seven editions, with over 12,000 spectators and 190 different teams having graced the pitches at North Dorset RFC in Gillingham. They aim to continue adding to this target alongside raising awareness for CRY’s work.
The day will include local food stalls, a variety of bars including renowned British movie director Guy Ritchie’s own Gritchie Brewing Co as main partner. Gritchie’s beer festival area will give visitors a taste of some of the best beer brewed in the UK with world class brewing expertise using local ingredients.
Tickets are available from www.nd7s.co.uk and booking in advance is recommended (very few camping tickets remain).
