Well we gave it a crack..
Completing 205miles in a moving time of 17 hours. 119 miles short of the 324mile challenge – “The Lang Way Doon”!
There was a lot of ups and downs along the way and that was not just the route and terrain! We had a brilliant team, and a great support crew to help us along the way! Unfortunately, some things you just can’t predict or account for when taking on something likes this is the weather (especially in Scotland!!)… The section around the Glenshee area was so foggy at 2am, we literally could not see a metre in front of us and therefore had to walk down it (or risk hitting sheep, hare, deer etc.), this meant in the end we just never had the time to complete it (losing circa 12hrs over the course of start to the point of stopping!). We were all gutted not to get to the end, but there will definitely be a next time…
With the disappointment of not finishing still lurking, we can still be happy with our fundraising for 2 charities. Now that the Just Giving page is closed, we now have a total of £1,117.42 to split between CRY and The Edinburgh Transplant team. So, this will be £558.71 going to each charity.
