Hello, my name’s Windy Wilson (amateur weatherman from Scotland) and I’ve been fundraising for a few years now. My latest race was – The Anglo Celtic Plate / Sri Chinmoy which is an international race that was held in Perth on Sunday March 24th 2024
The main event is the Anglo Celtic Plate over 100k with runners from Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Ulster and Ireland
There is also an open race over the 100k or 50k distances
I had ran the Tokyo marathon only 3 weeks before so had opted for the 50k race (21 laps of the North Inch)
My wife and I are fundraising and raising awareness in general for Cardia Risk in the Young, to bring heart screening up here to Perthshire in Scotland. We held our first screening in October 2023, and we’re already booked in for October 2024
Initially I started fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House in Glasgow and then the British Heart Foundation Scotland, before focussing on CRY in 2022 after my then 14yr old son had open heart surgery for an undiagnosed congenital heart defect at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow in December 2020. He has since made a full recovery and just turned 18 a few weeks ago, but we still choose to fundraise for CRY and the heart screening programme as we will never be able to thank everyone enough !!
