Friends and family of a man who died of a rare heart condition gathered to celebrate his life by raising money to help save others.
Levon Morland, of West Rainton, died in his sleep in 2002,aged 22.
The former holiday rep, who had worked in Spain and Tenerife, and as a leader with Camp America, had Wolfe Parkinson Syndrome.
Since his death, thousands of pounds have been collected for Cry, a charity which helps raise awareness of heart problems.
As part of their campaign, they started u; an annual walk which is held on the Saturday nearest to Levon’s birthday on April 23.
Eighty people gathered in Church Street, Seaham, and set out o0n the 10-mile route to Chilton Moor Country Club, stopping at the Spring Inn, Houghton, for refreshments.
A gold day is to be held at the Cocken Lodge near West Rainton on June 20.
