Potential life-saving cardiac screenings for 200 of the region’s young people will take place this weekend as a legacy of David Hill, who died from a previously undiagnosed heart condition.
The David Hill Memorial Fund has now raised more than £65,000 since being set up by his Dumfries family to help CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death.
The cash, from fundraising and donations, will see CRY’s screening programme give the first ECG and a 1:1 consultation with a cardiologist to an inaugural 200 Dumfries and Galloway young people tomorrow and Sunday in The Cairndale Hotel – among them will be members of David’s extended family.
