Rachel King ran the Virgin London Marathon 2014 in memory of Lyra Maharaj and raised a wonderful £4,878.00 for CRY.
“Rachel King ran the London Marathon on the 13th April 2014 in memory of Lyra Maharaj, the 3-year old daughter of her dear friend Alex. Rachel only registered to run for CRY following Lyra’s funeral in January 2014.
Despite not ever having run a marathon before, in such short space of time, Rachel managed to complete the gruelling 26.3 mile course whilst still running and smiling. Her efforts are absolutely amazing – she raised over £5,500 (including gift aid) for CRY in Lyra’s memory. Absolute star!”
