Money was raised for the Stevie Wiggins Memorial Fund within CRY, through two events held at Preston Grasshoppers rugby club.
“Stars in the Club’s Eyes” – April 19th
This was the second time the event has been held at the end of the rugby season, to raise money for CRY. 10 frustrated rock star members dressed up and performed live on stage to a packed club who cast their votes by paying £1 to CRY.
£700 was raised from the event in votes alone, and Mr Adam Baines took this year’s title as Rod Stewart.
Family Fun Day – May 10th
This is the third year we have held this event and we managed to combine it with a rugby game against a local team, Garstang.
We had a spit roast pig and set off over 100 red balloons in memory of Stevie. We raised a further £325 from the event and hope to build on the event each year.
We have now raised nearly £10,000 and plan to hold a mobile screening in the future.
