A caring youngster has enlisted the help of more than 100 celebrities to compile an uplifting book in memory of her late friend.
Julie Tanner's book, 101 Reasons To Get Up In the Morning, has been published and is available on the shelves at Waterstone's stores across the country.
Last year, at the age of 12, the Colchester County High School for Girls pupil came up with the idea after deciding she wanted to do something in memory of her friend Andy Gard, who died of heart failure at age 17.
She wrote to all the celebrities she could think of asking for a photo, signature and quotation they like to think about when feeling down. A whopping 111 replies from A-listers, including Hugh Grant, Julie Walters, Tony Blair, Terry Wogan and the late Pope John-Paul II, came back.
They form the basis of her book, copies of which she has been signing for fellow pupils and teachers this week at the Norman Way School.
The book is available in bookshops and on the web. All proceeds will go to awareness charity CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young.
