The Fulwood Cup as we have named the tournament was held by Cadley Whites U11s in partnership with Fulwood Amateurs and took place on Saturday July 16th. A total of 16 teams participated from Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside. The set-up was 4 groups of 4 and all played 3 games to see which cup they would play in either the Champions League or The Europa League. If you finished 1st or 2nd in your group you played in the Champions League 3rd or 4th played in The Europa League. It was then sudden death, if you won your match you were then into the next round until there were only 2 teams left in each cup to play the final.
Whilst the games were being played we sold refreshments, held a raffle and an auction all in aid of our team tour funds and the 2 chosen charities. The weather held out and the sun shone for the 2 finals.
Congratulations to Cadley Reds for winning The Europa League Cup and Penwortham Town for winning the The Champions League Cup.
In all the day was a success for everyone involved, players, parents, coaches and monies raised.
