Gym staff are preparing to take on an exercise challenge for a charity supported by one of its members.
The group of 13 staff from Esporta Health and Fitness Club, in Festival Heights, will begin a Spinathon next Friday morning, by taking part in a series of spin classes for the following 24 hours.
They have been spurred on to support the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) by member Angela Butler whose son Nathan, picture inset, passed away suddenly at the age of 16 due to an undetected heart defect.
One of the fundraisers, exercise and and lifestyle coach Craig Silkens, aged 26, from Newcastle, said: “We did a three-hour spin last year and are hoping for £3,500 to £4,000 for CRY.”
Angela, of Hassam Parade, Wolstanton, added: “It means a lot to see them do this for CRY. More than anything, it is raising a lot of awareness of the charity.
