More than 90 youngsters were screened for heart problems in memory of two men who lost their lives to heart conditions.
The event was held thanks to the Marcus Armstrong Fund, which started after the 28-year-old Dovercourt golfer died suddenly in 2006 from an undetected heart condition.
His family pledged to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young, known as CRY, so other young people in Harwich could be screened to pick up any heart problems early.
The fund has been boosted this year by money raised in memory of 26-year-old Dovercourt Scout helper, Stewart Sands, who died of a heart attack last year.
On Wednesday, Harwich School hosted the screening for pupils and staff under 35.
Tony Armstrong, Marcus’ dad, said he was thankful to all the people who had donated to the fund and helped make the screening possible.
Plans are already in the pipeline to organise another screening next summer.
