What is Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn or workplace giving) is a flexible scheme that allows people to support any charity of their choice with a regular donation direct from their pay.
How does it work?
A regular monthly donation is deducted from your pay before tax has been calculated and as the tax that would normally be paid to the government can be gifted to the charity too, Payroll Giving allows UK employees to “give more for less”.
So each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you’re a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p.
What do I do next?
Your employer may already be part of a payroll giving scheme so please ask your HR department for more information. If they are not already signed up, you can still register with the Payroll Giving scheme on-line, click here and complete the form.

Can I still give if I have retired?
Yes, if you receive an occupational pension and your pension provider deducts tax through the PAYE system, you are still eligible for the scheme. Simply ask your occupational pension provider to make a donation from your pension before tax has been deducted.
