Abbey Lang, head girl at Harris Academy has been campaigning to get MPs to support CRY’s national strategy for the prevention of young sudden cardiac death. Abbey attended a CRY screening at her school, in memory of Peter McAvoy, and was inspired to help convince MPs to get on board – including Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. Abbey will also deliver a speech on the subject of young sudden cardiac death at Scottish Parliament in June.
CRY CEO Dr Steven Cox said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Abby for taking such a proactive interest in CRY by helping to raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death.”
