My name is Caitlin Mogridge and I attend the Arts University College in Bournemouth. Myself and a friend, Mell Oliver undertook a charity hitch hike on April 18th called ‘Leggit’ and we decided to raise money for CRY. We came to this decision for many reasons, but mainly because our coursemate and friend Nick Jarram sadly died of an undiagnosed heart condition in 2009. The event started on the 18th April, and with other teams from our uni, our aim was to get as far away from Bournemouth as we could in 36 hours without spending a single penny! We relied on the lovely people we met on the way! If you know me or Mell you will know how adventerous we are, and we intended to do this properly and give it our all! We did the entire 36 hour hitch wearing tiger costumes and face paint! IT WAS AMAZING! we got to France but didn’t manage to hitch any further than that. We also didn’t wash until we got back to England! The plan was to collect sponsorship from people in order to hit our target of £100 each and we have far exceeded that with £340 raised already!! Thank you to everybody who supported us in our adventure!
