Binfield Football Club (near Bracknell, Berkshire) has CRY as one of its charity sponsors and the Under 10s Vikings team has the pleasure in having the CRY logo proudly on its shirt. Within the East Berks Football Association of junior football, it is the only one we are aware of that carries a charity rather than a business sponsor. This came about due to the actual sponsor not wishing to promote their business, but asked the club to choose a worthwhile aligned club cause instead.
When the team plays it gets a lot of interest from parents asking about CRY and when explaining, I feel it always seems appropriate for these young children to wear it as they enjoy their sport in good health. It certainly makes you feel thankful that they can gain such enjoyment in sport.
One recent event where this happened was at the East Berks FA U10s Plate final held on the 30th April, where the Binfield Vikings were this year’s winners after a hard fought 2-1 victory in extra time.
The finals day was attended by 38 teams and the shirts again raised not only the profile of the club and team for their great achievement, but also CRY as the players went up to lift the Plate cup in front of a large audience.
