101 Reasons to Get Up in the Morning
Celebrities’ favourite inspirational quotes, compiled by Julie Tanner for CRY.
Every week at least 8 apparently ‘fit and healthy’ young people under the age of 35 die suddenly of undetected heart conditions, many while playing sport. So when Andy Gard, who used to babysit Julie Tanner, dropped dead at the age of 17, his young friend contacted CRY – the national heart charity that works to raise awareness of cardiac risk in the young, offering counselling and raising funds for cardiac screening.
As part of CRY’s 10th Anniversary 12-year old Julie (right), who is the editor of the “Kids for CRY” page in the CRY Update brochure, has put together a collection of inspirational quotes from a glittering array of celebrities including Tony Blair, Hugh Grant, Jonny Wilkinson, Julie Walters, Emma Thompson, Ian Botham, Honor Blackman, Patrick Lichfield, John McEnroe, Sally Gunnell, Ranulph Fiennes, Ken Livingstone, Michael Caine and Derek Jacobi.
In 101 Reasons to Get Up in the Morning (published in October by Canterbury Press, priced £7.99 paperback) you will discover who turns to Winnie the Pooh when the going gets tough; what Boris Johnson’s grandma said to him; why cabbages are important to Tanni Grey Thompson and why nothing is impossible for Terry Wogan plus many more celebrity secrets.
“101 Reasons to Get Up in the Morning” was officially launched on November 3rd 2005 by Julie Tanner and John Inverdale (right).
All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to CRY
