Champion – 22nd June 2016 …Three years ago the tournament nominated CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) as their charity partner and it has been a great feeling to donate nearly £7,500 already to help screen more than 250 young people for potentially fatal heart defects that affect up to 600 young people every year.
Derbyshire Times – 22nd June 2016 A charity football match will be held in memory of a young man who sadly died in his sleep. Kyle Hancock, of Bradwell, passed away aged 18 in 2011. He was discovered lifeless after suffering from sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS). Read more

Leek Post & Times – 20th June 2016 A two-day heart screening event has taken place in memory of a 21-year-old. The CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) screening event took place at Leek Cricket Club recently which offered screenings to people aged 14 to 35. Read more
Stoke Sentinel – 19th June 2016 …Kerry’s son Ashley Newton came up with the idea of entering the Mud Run and succeeded in recruiting 12 other participants. Together they decided to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young, the critical care unit at Royal Stoke University Hospital and Meningitis Now. Read more
The Yorkshire Post – 18th June 2016 …Next Friday, Hornsea’s Joe Palmer and East Riding match play champion Leigh Gawley will attempt to play 150 holes in a day to raise funds for CRY, a charity which works to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death. Read more
