A charity football match will be hosted by Prescot Cables tonight to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in memory of Jack Riding. The 18 year old football player passed away suddenly last year due to a heart condition. “I didn’t even know this condition existed until Jack passed away,” his father, Ian, said.”But the fact is that 12 people a week die from it. For me this is about stopping people going through what we’ve been going through and making sure that as many people as possible get tested.” Ian and his family are helping CRY raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Death and support the screening and diagnoses of young people. Entrance to the game is £2 and donations can be given at www.c-r-y.org.uk/jack-riding. Link no longer available
