Friends and former colleagues of a young man who died from a heart attack several years ago have completed a gruelling 12-hour bike ride.
Dozens of Folkestone Sports Centre members held the event last month to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young charity and have finally counted their numerous donations. More than £2,500 has been collected so far by the 19 people who took part in the static bike ride at the sports centre gym in memory of Steven Tanner who died in 2005.
Close friend Adam Milton said: "Everyone is very pleased with how it has all gone.
"We've raised a lot of money, all put in 110 per cent and all suffered from severe numb bums in the process.
"We have tried to do something every year in memory of Steven but this is the first time we had a cycling event.
"It was so successful that I want to hold it again."
