COVID-19: A statement from CRY

Due to the unprecedented circumstances we are all dealing with at the moment as a result of COVID-19, CRY has needed to make some changes.

Our staff are continuing to work but are doing so remotely from home. This will not have any impact on our ability to communicate, as staff will still be answering phone calls to the CRY number and responding to emails as normal. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything which we may be able to help with.

CRY’s cardiac screening events have been postponed up until the end of June, and we have currently put a hold on booking future screenings for the time being. For any questions regarding screening events, please contact CRY as you would do normally by either calling 01737 363222 or emailing [email protected].

Our online support groups are still functioning as normal. We have private Facebook groups which are specifically for bereaved mums, bereaved dads, bereaved siblings, and bereaved partners, and we also have a ‘Family and Friends’ group which can be joined by anyone who has lost a young person to a sudden cardiac death. These groups provide a place for people to talk and share their feelings with others who have experienced a similar loss. If you would like to join one of these groups, please complete a request form by clicking here.

There is also the website and Facebook group for our myheart network that offers support for young people diagnosed with life-threatening heart conditions. To see what support services and information we offer, please click here.

Thank you for your understanding at this time, and for your continued support. We would like to wish you the best over the coming months and hope you stay safe as we all get through this.
