Dani West held a Cake Bake and a Christmas Hamper raffle during Raising Awareness Week 2013. She raised £485 in the memory of her friend Sam Wright.
“At 8am on Wednesday 20th November our stall at Royal Derby Hospital was laden with chocolate brownies, fruit cakes, sponge cakes, cupcakes and even a basket of samosas.
The main attraction, however, was an enormous, sparkling Christmas hamper packed full with festive treats. Friends and colleagues donated so many items that we needed a last minute rush to search for a bigger box!
An hour after opening, all 50 samosas had sold out, and by 3pm we were leaving the hospital with nothing but empty cake boxes and full donation tins.
As well as cakes, around 100 raffle tickets were sold at the stall for the hamper, and for the next week we sold even more tickets to friends and family, taking our grand total up to an amazing £485.”
