The third CRY Great Cake Bake took place on Friday 28th November 2014, as part of Raising Awareness Week. We would like to thank everybody who took part in the CRY Great Cake Bake and for helping to make the event such a success.
Money is still coming in but we are delighted to say that we have raised nearly £19,000 so far. We had over 120 people sign up for Great Cake Bake information packs and we are really pleased that the event has grown and we have continued to have support since the introduction of the event.
We have received some great stories about people’s events and seen some lovely photos of all the hard work that went into making them a success – see below.
Competition Winners
For the first time we held a competition during this year’s CRY Great Cake Bake 2014 with two of Ariana Bundy’s book “Pomegranates and Roses” up to be won. The two categories and their winners were:
1) Top fundraiser for the Great Cake Bake 2014
I am pleased to say that this was a close competition with several of our Bakers raising over £1,000 which is wonderful! However, our winner was Hollie Button and her colleagues at Heathrow who raised £1,270 from their cake sale which their employers are matching to make a fantastic £2,540 in total!
2) Best cake design for the Great Cake Bake 2014
It was a tough decision for the team of judges, but the winning cake design was from the cake sale held by June Thomas!
We were particularly impressed with the ECG line that ran around the cake!
Well done to the winners and we hope to see more competition in next year’s event! We are pleased to announce that the 2015 CRY Great Cake Bake will be taking place on Friday 27th November 2015. For more information or to register for your information pack please email [email protected].
