CRY supporter Ann Wilson met the Queen on 6th November 2009, at the official opening of Washington School (Washington, Sunderland) where Ann works.
Ann lost her son James (Jimmy) suddenly in 2004, aged just 24.
Ann said, “She spoke to me about Jimmy and I told her about CRY and the work you do. She looked at the postcard with Jimmy and the other 11 young people from the North East. She was aware of CRY.”
“I baked a bear cake with a red heart on to raffle for CRY and a Pudsy cake to raffle for Children in Need. There were stories from newspapers about Jimmy, and the information about CRY.”
“The Queen opened our new school and visited the cookery room where I teach cookery to my Year 7 children.”
