“Traditionally we have found that the last few months of the year are a very busy time, often with several major fundraising and raising awareness activities taking place.
September finds our runners busy in the Great North Run and Run to the Beat events; whilst in October our annual Durham Riverside Walk attracts more people each year, as does CRY’s International Conference – attended by medical personnel interested in learning more about the conditions that cause young sudden cardiac death. November heralds our annual Raising Awareness Week, featuring the increasingly popular CRY Great Cake Bake and – a key annual event – our Parliamentary Reception at Westminster.
The autumn of 2013 also found CRY supporting a nationwide Halloween-themed fundraising initiative in conjunction with McColl’s Retail Group; and December saw CRY organising a ‘coming of age’ Christmas Carol Concert to celebrate our 18th birthday, which was held in the prestigious venue of St John’s, Smith Square. You can read more about all these events in issue 62 of the CRY Update.”
