CRY Update 71 reports on all the CRY news, events and fundraising from September to December 2016. In this period, we held our annual Raising Awareness Week – including our most successful CRY Great Cake Bake yet.
We also saw fantastic support for the Great North Run in September with over 70 runners taking part for CRY, our biggest team yet! Three of our runners were also interviewed by Olympic hurdler Colin Jackson as part of the BBC coverage.
The 7th annual CRY Durham Riverside Walk in October saw over 300 CRY supporters walk in memory of loved ones to raise awareness of CRY. A new route this year included Durham Cathedral and Castle, the River Wear, Durham Town Hall and Market Place where CRY had a stand.
In November our 15th CRY Parliamentary Reception took place where we announced our latest campaign urging MPs to pledge their support for a National Strategy for the Prevention of Young Sudden Cardiac Death.
