Issue 88 of the CRY Update magazine covers all news, events and fundraising from May to August 2022.
During the four-month period, we screened over 7,000 people with 6,972 being screened at family screening events. Furthermore, CRY’s Research Team was recognised at the British Cardiac Society with some members even receiving awards. Read more about screening on page 10 and the British Cardiac Society awards on page 5.
The biggest fundraising event between May and August was our annual Heart of London Bridges Walk. For the previous two years, due to the pandemic, this event had gone virtual so we were so pleased to reunite once again and return to London. It was great to see so many people gather together for the day to connect and remember. Other events throughout the period included Vitality London 10,000 and RideLondon-Essex 100 with 13 people taking part, some of whom were CRY research fellows. You can read more about the events on pages 14-17.
Other features within the Update include news from CRY Chief Executive Dr Steven Cox (page 4), CRY Founder Alison Cox MBE’s column about how families may confront tragedy in different ways (page 12) and Our Fundraisers section where we highlight how families have been raising money in memory of loved ones (page 18).
