Issue 89 of the CRY Update magazine covers all news, events and fundraising from September to December 2022.
During the four-month period CRY screened over 9000 people with 6820 young people screened at family screening events, 567 people at sports screenings and 186 people at CRY’s head office in Leatherhead.
We also highlight some of the major fundraising events that took place within these four months including The Great North Run and the TCS London Marathon. The CRY Heart of Durham Walk also took place and you can read more about the day on page 16.
CRY celebrated Raising Awareness Week in November and supporters took part in the CRY Great Cake Bake and 12 A Week Challenge. It was great to see supporters get involved in the fundraising as well as raising awareness, whether they were baking or taking on the Challenge!
CRY’s International Medical Conference was held online for the third time. We welcomed leading experts in cardiology from around the world for presentations, discussion of case-based scenarios, and interactive debates for the audience to follow along and engage with.
Other features within the Update include news from CRY Chief Executive Dr Steven Cox (page 4), CRY Founder Alison Cox MBE’s column about how families may confront tragedy in different ways (page 12) and Our Fundraisers section where we recognise the continued dedication of our supporters and how they have raised money in memory of their loved ones (page 26).
