Los Tangueros, an Argentine tango formation team, will be featured at the Mayor's charity dinner and dance in aid of CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). The evening will take place on March 17, at 7pm for 7.30pm, in the Floral Hall, Winter Garden.
Mayor of Eastbourne councillor Graham Marsden said: "Los Tangueros will bring a touch of Latin America to Eastbourne when they perform at the charity dinner and dance.
"I hope that their demonstration will encourage those present to let their hair down, have a go, and set the standard for participants in the next Strictly Come Dancing!"
A three-course dinner of smoked salmon and trout roulade, followed by demi poussin, and then a torte trio is being served by RedEventful Cuisine. A vegetarian option is also available.
Pzass, an 11-piece band, will be performing dance music.
The main purpose of the evening is to have fun whilst raising money to help reduce the tragic loss of young people to sudden adult death syndrome.
Most people will be aware of at least one incident where a young adult has died without warning. Every week, eight apparently fit young people die from undiagnosed heart conditions.
Tickets cost £30 each and can be obtained by sending a cheque, made payable to The Mayor of Eastbourne's Charity, to Miss B Chwatow, Mayor's Office, Town Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4UG. Or call 415020.
Individuals or couples are welcome to purchase tickets and complete tables seating eight are also available.
CRY was chosen as this year's Mayoral charity, not only because of its importance in raising awareness of this type of sudden death and providing support for grieving families , but also because a young Cavendish School student, known to the Mayor during his teaching career, died suddenly.
