On the 5th December I walked the 52 mile journey from Charing Cross to Brighton in memory of Richard Dunk, my brother-in-law, who’s life was sadly taken away from him far too early, leaving behind his wife and my amazing sister Sarah, and their 5 month old son, Jenson.
Richard was 26 years old when he passed away 5 years ago, who succumbed to a critical heart condition he never knew he had, completely out of the blue, leaving behind the two most important people in his life. I walked for Richard, and anybody else who has suffered with, or been affected by this potentially fatal cardiac condition.
I had lots of help & support on the journey; a HUGE thank you to my Mum & Dad for driving alongside me the whole way and being my support vehicle, I couldn’t have done it without them. Steve, Janet, Jordan, Dave, Dan, Dave, Lea, Isla, Eva, Dean and Brendon all walked with me for a few miles along the way, which was a massive help – so a HUGE thank you to Danielle, my amazing wife, for organising this. And for the last couple of miles, Danielle, Lottie, Fearne, Sarah & Jenson walked with me and we arrived at the pier together. It was very emotional, and I’m so glad I was able to do something like this to remember Richard and his loved ones, and for anybody else affected by this potentially fatal cardiac condition.
