Charlotte’s Day this year falls on what would have been Karen Williams’ beloved daughter’s 14th birthday, Saturday July 7.
The celebrations of Charlotte Wright’s life will run over the weekend, starting at noon in Clyde Street, Sheerness.
Live music by well-known artists, readings by the Mystic Megs and a host of other attractions will support the event dedicated to the little girl who died from an undiagnosed heart defect when she was on a school field trip.
Since the tragedy five years ago, her family and friends have campaigned to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Karen said: “On Saturday there will be teams competing in a tug of war, and entertainment from singer Mark Black, landlord of the Blacksmiths Arms, who also puts up the £100 first prize in the raffle.
“Mick Kenten sings on Sunday and there will be a pool knock out contest, barbecues both days and massive support from local firms.”
They hope to raise £2,500 to be shared between CRY, Demelza Hospice and Preston Skreens respite unit for children.
