A black tie charity dinner is being held in memory of an emerging Walsall FC player who collapsed on the training pitch.
The meal and dance to celebrate the life of Anton Reid will be held at the Banks’ Stadium on September 189 from 7pm.
There will be a three-course meal, comedian Eddie Kadi and music from the Stoneheart family. Money raised will go towards Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Youth team Saddlers player Anton suddenly collapsed and died, aged just 16, on the training ground on August 20, 2007, despite frantic efforts by youth team coach Mick Halsall to revive him. Black Country coroner Robin Balmain returned a verdict of natural causes.
Tickets for the dinner are £45. To book call 01922 624713 or 07950 705720.
