Signed by the team that beat the Southern Hemisphere
Kindly donated by Clive Woodward – England Head Coach
Organised by Mark and Debbie Loveday.
A special thank you for the stunning initiative of Mark and Debbie Loveday whose illustrious friend Clive Woodward, England Rugby Head Coach, kindly donated this shirt signed by the squad during the recent tour of the Southern Hemisphere to raise funds for the work carried out by Cardiac Risk in the Young.. Mark and Debbie, who joined CRY after the tragic death of their baby son Chad, organised a raffle of “the shirt” during the England v Scotland 6 Nations Rugby match, that was drawn by England Captain, Martin Johnson at Twickenham in March.
This project not only raised a total of £6,688 but also made a terrific contribution to our raising awareness campaign. 3344 tickets were sold, including many both through our website and at the ground on match day. As an incentive to encourage people to sell tickets to friends and sports clubs the seller of the winning ticket won a case of wine. Tickets were £2 each and sold individually or as a book of 5. The interest generated in being associated with such a high profile event has wide-spreading ramifications and again underlines how – just by raising awareness of young sudden cardiac death – young lives can be saved..
