CRY’s Counselling Programme

The development of CRY’s counselling programme was initially funded by a grant awarded by the Department of Health

In 2002, CRY received a donation of £100,000 from the Department of Health to develop a counselling programme. This followed a CRY pilot study in 2000 which trained CRY staff, and supporters who had suffered a tragedy, to be available to help others.
The CRY Counselling Skills Course is now the cornerstone of CRY’s Bereavement Support programme. CRY has a network of individuals who have suffered a tragedy and who have done the Skills Course, who are available to support others through their loss.

Further to the completion of the Skills Course many course members choose to continue with the second stage of ‘Counselling Theory’.

CRY’s Bereavement Support programme also features a number of annual Bereavement Support days in locations around the UK.
