CRY is delighted to announce that Four Pillars Hotels Ltd have chosen to support CRY in 2013.
“Four Pillars Hotels are pleased to announce that we will be supporting CRY as our Charity of the Year for 2013. By raising money, we hope to enable them to carry on their vital research into cardiac risk in the young and also keep the much needed support networks running, throughout the UK.
Every year our employees are given the opportunity to nominate a “Charity of the Year” and CRY was a popular choice. We, like many others, were deeply touched by the stories on the CRY website, provided by people touched by sudden arrhythmic death. Tragically we have employees who have recently been affected by Sudden Adult Death and this, in addition to the testimonials provided by CRY, prompted us to choose this very deserving charity.
To help us to raise as much money as we possibly can, we have compiled a calendar of dedicated charity events and are keen to add further events throughout the year. Events already in the calendar include: an Interactive Quiz Night; Family Fun Day; Clairvoyance Evening and Craft Fayre, in addition to us participating in CRY organised and mass participation events such as the London Bridges Walk, Run to the Beat half marathon and Bristol 10km run. It is also our aim to assist in raising awareness of the charity and the hard work that they do through activities such as selling merchandise in our hotels and promoting the charity through our own online and social media channels.
We are proud to say that we have a dedicated and selfless charity committee who devote much personal time and efforts into fundraising, all of whom are ready and raring to make 2013 a record breaking year for fundraising on behalf of CRY at Four Pillars Hotels.

Following on from discussions with CRY, the Four Pillars Hotels group have decided to focus their fundraising on raising money to put towards buying an ultrasound machine. The demand for screening with CRY has increased by 50% in the last year. In 2012 they tested over 12,000 fit and healthy young people between the age of 14 and 35. CRY urgently requires more cardiac machinery to respond to the increase in demand, in particular an additional ultrasound (echo) machine. Four Pillars are supporting CRY with the purchase of a Vivid i. This is a high-performance, battery-operated, ultra-portable diagnostic Ultrasound system that provides exceptional image quality.”

Thanks to the continued efforts of supporters across the UK, CRY is able to raise huge levels of awareness of young sudden cardiac death, as well as running a pioneering screening programmes to identify young people at risk and providing support to those affected. We wish Four Pillars every success with their fundraising and awareness events throughout the year.”

Totals Raised So Far – Total to the end of March
“We are absolutely delighted and proud to announce that after only 4 months of fundraising, we have raised £4,219, which is 40% of our Fundraising Target for the year and we still have two of our biggest events to host! We have been so overwhelmed with the progress and support offered by our employees and the local community, and hope that the rest of the year remains as positive. We are currently in the planning stages for our Family Fun Day in September, which is always a popular event and are excited to announce that we are hosting a Charity Dinner & Auction in October, which we are hopeful will be a fantastic evening.
