Four extraordinary teenagers from Boxmoor Cricket Club have walked 24 miles from Lords Cricket Ground to Boxmoor Cricket Club to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Heidi Bryon, 16, Sanya Hamdani, 16, Harriet Heathcote Wells, 16, and Jessica Parnell, 15, set off on their journey on Saturday, 7th August. The weather wasn’t the greatest as they had to battle heavy downpours.
As part of their Young Leaders course, the groups must complete 20 hours of volunteer work and must raise a minimum of £50 each. They exceed this amount raising a staggering £2,743.
The group are very happy with their achievement and have stated that “We thought that CRY would be the best option because of how many people its supported through their difficult times.”
Heidi said: “It was very hard work but I did enjoy walking with my friends. Also, I was very determined to finish the walk because of how much money we raised and how we raised awareness for this charity.”
