Since the tragic death of 14 year old Bethany Mycroft due to an undiagnosed heart condition, her family has been raising money and awareness in support of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Their most recent fundraiser enabled almost 300 young people to receive free ECG screenings. This fundraising event at Ashgate Medical Practice in Chesterfield raised £1627. 97 to support the screening in Bethany’s memory. “We received many kind donations from people attending the event,” said Bethany’s uncle, Adrian Topp. “This money will be donated directly to Cardiac Risk in the Young in memory of Bethany and will be used to fund our future screening events in 2019 and 2020.” The next screening event is to take place in September this year; the details of which will be released closer to the time.
