Since the UK went into lockdown 100s of CRY’s fundraising events across the UK have been postponed or cancelled. This has resulted in a significant reduction in the amount of community fundraising taking place to support CRY’s aims. In response to this we have put together some alternative ways you can continue to support CRY whilst following social distancing guidance.
Although CRY’s national screening programme has had to be paused during the COVID-19 lockdown all the other aspects of CRY’s support programme have continued with an increase in demand.
Thank you for helping CRY to raise vital funds and raise awareness through this crisis, your support is very much appreciated.
Virtual challenges are a great way to not only raise awareness but fundraise in a fun way. Using social media or online fundraising pages you can raise funds by setting yourself a challenge to climb your stairs X number of times or do 20 push ups for 20 days or whatever you choose, the challenge ideas are endless. Encourage others to join in with you or nominate someone to take on the challenge you have set.
Virtual events are the thing of 2020. Host quizzes, baking competitions, gigs or even escape rooms virtually via video conferencing (Zoom, Messenger etc).
Quiz nights are a brilliant way to fundraising, invite family friends to your event and ask them to donate to join in.
There are so many ways to help raise vital funds for CRY through everyday internet use. Using a particular search engine; shopping online with a retailer donating a percentage of the price to CRY; recycling schemes that will donate for unwanted items and online card sending retailers that will donate part of the price of the card to CRY.
These schemes can add a donation here and there to CRY and can add up to raising hundreds to thousand of £’s for CRY over the course of a year.
Raising awareness of CRY and its objectives can be as easy as a click of a button or downloading and printing posters to display in your windows. Liking or sharing a post on our social media pages and sharing our YouTube videos is such a vital way to help raise awareness and save young lives.
We have also pre-made messages and videos that you can download and copy to post on your own social media to help raise awareness.
