The family and friends of Sarah Tenwick have been fundraising throughout May and June in her memory. They have had a cyclathon and bag packs at their local Sainsburys and Asda and also held a fun day at the Gamekeeper Inn.
24 Hour Cyclathon & Bag Pack, ASDA Newark – 10th & 11th May 2013
Many thanks go to Andrea, Dean and their team for all their help with the 24 hour awareness event at ASDA Newark. We raised £740.00 on the day, and they donated the month of May to our charity so we are waiting to rejoin and see how things have gone.
It was amazing that so many people got involved and asked loads of questions about CRY, so we were able to point them in the charity’s direction. We had a great day, and LA Fitness loaned us an exercise bike for the occasion which we kept going for the whole event. We were also fortunate that local companies like LA Fitness, Calor Gas, Julia Keats and other donors enabled us to hold a raffle. Our thanks also go to all who made this day possible and an enjoyable event.
Family Fun Day, Gamekeeper Inn, Lincoln – 27th May 2013
We had a fantastic day at the Gamekeeper Inn, Newark Road, Lincoln, courtesy of their managers Tracy and Kev, and all their team, We raised £422.00 and the sun was on our side. Tracy and Kev arranged for a bouncy castle and facepainting at the wacky warehouse and we had a great family day.
We held a raffle, sold cakes and merchandise and yet again LA Fitness South Lincoln provided the exercise bike for our day and came along to show their support. Nicola Morris came up with the idea of name the bear and raised £25.00. Nicola is an amazing strong young woman and we are proud to have her as part of our team.
The raffle was courtesy of: Calor Gas, Lincoln; Carpets4Less; Julia Keats; Sarah Hobday; Helen Doyle Specialist hand made cards; Brakes provided a fruit basket; Harpers Gym vouchers; LA Fitness Vouchers; Butterfly Beauty vouchers; Audi Lincoln – Audi for a day; Convert a Flap; plus many more prizes, so thanks again to all. I would like to add that County Cups in Lincoln provided and donated our banner – its amazing, and they had designed it beautifully.
Cyclathon and Bag Pack, Sainsburys Lincoln – 18th June 2013
Just a few photos and an update from our day at Sainsburys in Lincoln on the 18th June, we raised £951.00. Jamie Tenwick-Ford, Sarah’s brother, works at Sainsburys and Chad Smith – a family friend – along with Natasha and her team, made this possible
We had a great day, with some great people and a good team. Thank you to our bag packers and supporters who, without fail, try and attend all our events and make the day fun. It is amazing to us the amount of people who say “I know someone who died of that”. I really believe our statistics are wrong, its scary.
I would like to acknowledge the hard work done by all, especially Danielle Spurr aged 15, who was a good friend to Sarah Tenwick, my daughter, and who is arranging events of her own to fundraise and raise awareness for this worthy cause.
LA Fitness Lincoln south donated us an exercise bike; and thank you to Francis Callaghan and your team for showing support and turning up and taking a turn on the bike.
