Gabby Broadhurst raises awareness of CRY
On 26th February 2011, myself, my sixteen year old son Ben, and my dear friend Vickie had a CRY stall at the ‘Community Day’ Southsea Community Centre.
The day went really well, generating a lot of interest from both Adults and Young People.
On December 1st 2010 our son David died in his sleep at just nineteen years old from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. It left us devastated and totally shocked, we had little awareness of this condition and no knowledge about heart screening for young people.
Since David’s death it has been important for me to try and raise as much awareness about CRY and heart screening as possible if a young persons life can be saved then my sons death takes on some meaning.
