Hello everyone,
My name is Natalie and I’m Matty’s wife. Matty very sadly passed away in January 2023 from complications due to an infection. He suffered a cardiac arrest and after his passing, we were informed that he had Premature Coronary Artery Disease, he was only 30 years old.
Matty truly was the most amazing man, he had the kindest soul and never failed to make me happy. He was always there for myself and his loved ones no matter what.
Matty was a very talented individual, most notably when it came to music, but he was also a talented warhammer painter and player. He used to play rugby when he was younger as well and you would find him cheering on his beloved Wales.
Matty picked up bass guitar at a young age, and music is what first brought us together. We were in a band together with two of our closest friends and I will forever cherish those memories whether it be rehearsing, writing or performing on stage. Matty held us all together and he thrived when creating music.
Matty’s favourite band was Foo Fighters, he loved a wide range of music however and you would often find him with music playing loudly and a paintbrush in hand. He would usually come home from work with a song of the day to play for me too.
His other great loves in his life were his motorbike and our dog, Willow.
Matty was truly one of a kind, I miss him every second of the day.
I am determined that we can make a positive difference in his honour and help save lives.
I am fundraising so that we can hold a heart screening event in our hometown in Matty’s memory. I want to make sure that nobody else has to go through this.
