Football has always been more than just a game. It has the power to bring communities together, inspire passion, and make a positive impact beyond the pitch. On Saturday, May 25th, 2024, football enthusiasts and CRY supporters alike will converge at the iconic King Power Stadium for a special event that embodies the spirit of camaraderie and compassion – the charity football match between BHF FC and Jade Moore’s CRY XI. The event aims not only to celebrate the beautiful game but also to raise crucial funds and awareness for CRY’s vital work in preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through screening, research, and support.
Leading the charge are two teams comprised of talented footballers and notable personalities. Jade Moore, a renowned figure in women’s football long-time supporter of CRY and CRY ambassador, will be spearheading the CRY XI team, while the opponents will be BHF FC team, a team formed in 2017 in memory of Peter Burr. The team was set up by his son Gary as he wanted to do something that they were both passionate about so set up a charity football team. The aim of the team is to raise awareness and fundraise for the British Heart Foundation
The action kicks off at 6:00 PM, with gates opening at 5:00 PM, at the historic King Power Stadium. As the home of Leicester City Football Club, the stadium carries a legacy of triumph and resilience, making it the perfect backdrop for this charitable endeavour.
Beyond the thrill of the match itself, the significance of this event lies in its noble cause. Every ticket sold, every goal scored, and every cheer raised will contribute to the ongoing efforts to safeguard young lives against the threat of cardiac conditions. By supporting CRY, attendees will play a vital role in funding screenings, providing support to affected families, and advancing research aimed at understanding and preventing sudden cardiac deaths.
Supporting the cause is as simple as purchasing a ticket. Whether you’re a die-hard football fan, a supporter of charitable initiatives, or simply someone who wishes to make a difference, your presence at the match will be a testament to the power of collective action.
